James Reid - Motioneering

Also take note of the amazing blog Motioneering by James Reid. Another very talented friend of mine, he has lots of good stuff to create and recommend.

Take note of the link on the blog roll to the right of this post. Kevin Casey Music is an extremely solid website featuring the talents and tastes of one Kevin Casey. I highly recommend checking it out.

Yoshimi and Weeman Battle the Pink Robots

This is a painting I did for my cousin Danny and his wife Phuong (who is now officially my cousin-though I considered her such for a long time now). They got married last month and this is a piece I did for them to celebrate. I couldn't ask for better people to have around. Their cat's names are Yoshimi and Weeman. It's watercolor, gauche, colored pencil, and electrical tape on a 15" x 30" piece of Stonehenge paper.

Glorious Dawn

Okay, make of this what you will. My Dad sent me an email the other day with the link to a website called Symphony of Science. I scrolled down, not really knowing what to look for other than a video featuring Carl Sagan and Bill Nye, the Science Guy (who we all know and love), as this is why my Dad sent the email. So before I even saw the Bill Nye video, I saw this one, clicked on it, and was instantly hypnotized by it. I was perplexed at the amount of layers to this thing. Who did this, is it a prank?, a spoof?, the real deal Bill McNeal? I will let you watch, and ponder these things for yourself. You might even want to go Symphony of Science and discover the glorious worlds that await. I would also like to note that the music in the music video you are about to watch is currently out on a special 7" vinyl, being distributed by none other than Jack White, over there at his amazing company, Third Man Productions. I would also like to note that I am not entirely in tune with the latest phenomenon on youtube, so this could be a real let down for some people, if you have already seen it. Last note: this music video was done by composer John Boswell. The statement on the site reads: The Symphony of Science is a musical project by John Boswell designed to deliver scientific knowledge and philosophy in musical form. Here you can watch music videos, download songs, read lyrics and find links relating to the messages conveyed by the music. For now, I'm staying baffled and more importantly, very moved, by this stirring piece of art. Enjoy the rest of your day.

P.S. Come back soon, I'll be posting another watercolor painting I just finished in the next few days.

Uncle Grandpa

I've been meaning to post this for a while. It's the funniest cartoon I've seen in a very long time. I hope a network pick's it up one day. It's much better than a lot of the stuff that's on tv right now. The use of Flash is even pretty good, not the best, but pretty good. So everyone, please enjoy...Uncle Grandpa, by Pete Browngardt.
